How to Create an Edge

Once you have at least two nodes in your map, you can create an edge to connect them based on the type of relationship.

1. Select one of the nodes you wish to connect.

1. Then, go to the lefthand side of the interface, click on the Edges tab.

1. If an edge does not already exist, click the New Edge button.

1. Then select the other node to which you wish to connect.

• Note that you can change the direction of the edge by clicking the button in the middle of the node names.

1. Select the type of edge you wish to use to connect the nodes.

1. If relevant, cite the source for this edge connection (e.g. Bellum Catilinae Ch. 40 Paragraph 1).

1. Once the edge has been configured, be sure to save (or cancel).

• Clicking out of the menu without saving or canceling locks the edge and leaves others unable to edit it.

Editing an Edge

To edit an edge, select one of the connecting nodes, click on the Edges tab, and select the relevant edge.

From this menu, you can change the edge’s attributes.
